International Day of Football: How the Sport Enchants Children

Sports heroes serve as inspiration for children worldwide, transforming their lives

The International Day of Football celebrates the global passion for one of the world’s most famous sports. It’s not just a simple game, especially for children. From an early age, football becomes an endless source of joy, learning, and development.

Football only requires a ball and some space. Thus, the sport is accessible and democratic, promoting moments of fun and healthy competition. By running, dribbling, and scoring goals, children not only exercise their bodies but also their minds, developing motor skills, coordination, and physical health. Moreover, they learn values such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Football heroes like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Marta, for example, inspire millions of young people, showing that with effort and passion, any dream can come true. The stories of overcoming challenges and triumph from these athletes motivate children to dedicate themselves to sports and dream big.

Furthermore, football is a powerful tool for socialization. Playing in a team helps children develop social skills such as communication, cooperation, and mutual respect. The friendships formed on the field often extend beyond it, creating lasting bonds. Finally, the sport also promotes inclusion, integrating children from different cultures and backgrounds.

For parents, football is an excellent way to engage their children in physical activities and keep them away from screens. Enrolling children in football schools or organizing matches among friends are ways to encourage them to participate in sports and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

Actions to celebrate

To celebrate the sport, there’s nothing better than practice. And this applies throughout the year, not just on International Day of Football. That’s why Instituto Ramacrisna promotes football workshops for children in some of its projects.

The institution boasts an extensive Sports Center, where projects like the Ramacrisna Educational Support Center (CAER), Moving Sport and VALE are executed. In addition to football, they promote various other sports such as volleyball, shuttlecock, judo, chess, basketball, among others. The activities offered not only focus on sports but also assist in the integral development of participants and their preparation for citizenship and leisure activities. Moreover, the Marimbá FC Ramacrisna Football School has revealed great football talents in the community. In addition to daily training sessions, internal and inter-club championships are held, promoting interaction and developing team spirit among students.

These actions also encourage family involvement in their children’s routines, as everyone gathers in lively support for the youngsters at each event. And to further promote sports practices, some projects have external branches spread across various communities. In Building the Future VI, activities take place in the cities of Betim, Ibirité, and Sarzedo. The CASA Project (Culture, Social Assistance, and Sports Activities) has centers scattered across Betim’s ten regions, facilitating access to activities for residents throughout the city. The same goes for Viva o Esporte, which has 14 centers, all in Betim, spread across different regions to reach a diverse audience. Visit our website and check the address of each center and the activities offered.
