Inside Ramacrisna: Get to know the story of Isabela Bessa

Isabela Bessa was already making dreams come true when she enrolled in the Event Organization course in 2014. The classes were crucial in improving her standing in the job market and establishing herself in the field.

Ten years later, Isabela is gearing up for a significant step: offering consultancy and assistance to companies in the events industry. All of this is a result of the opportunity she had at the Ramacrisna Institute. Let’s dive into her story.

World Cup

In 2014, Brazil was getting ready to host the World Cup. At that time, Ramacrisna offered various professional courses to train individuals to cater to the tourists arriving in Greater BH to witness the championship. One of these courses was Event Organization, held at Ramacrisna’s facility in Belo Horizonte, in the Carlos Prates neighborhood.

At 26, Isabela Bessa, with three years of experience, saw the course advertisement. Despite already working in the industry, she wanted to enroll to understand the technical aspects and refine her skills. “During the course, I dedicated myself a lot and ended up getting close to the pedagogical team at the time. They were crucial in showing me the possibilities of the market, opening my eyes, and making me believe that I could pursue and work on more ambitious projects with demanding clients,” she shares.

In addition to classroom experience, she sought extra activities to further enhance her skills. “I participated in extension activities organized by the teachers, which helped me build my network and improve my professional standing. I seized every opportunity and am very grateful to all. I use techniques, spreadsheets, and project structures that I learned while I was a student at Ramacrisna,” she evaluates.

Besides the Event Organization course, Isabela also participated in the evaluation panel for the Bartender training in the same year. “Ramacrisna represents opportunity and growth. I am very grateful to the Institute for choosing such qualified and dedicated teachers. Raquel, Ricardo, and Maurício are now my partners. We have taken courses, training, and events together,” details the event planner.

Career Transition

Over these ten years, Isabela fell even more in love with the events industry. “Working with events is extremely challenging and rewarding. Dealing with dreams and providing experiences through social or business gatherings is very fulfilling. Organizing events takes us out of our comfort zone. It involves dealing with people’s emotions, and doing it repeatedly along the way matures and enhances us,” she describes.

“In this journey, we learn to negotiate, plan, structure spreadsheets, analyze profiles, choose suppliers, identify needs aligned with personal taste and available resources. And it’s all these functions that make me love planning and executing events,” she adds.

The love was so great that, at 36, she is undergoing a career transition, moving from organizing social events to focusing on consultancy and assistance for companies in the market. “I intend to expand the business and train people, leveraging my knowledge and market experience with my background in Law to help companies and professionals with training, management, and strategic business planning,” she plans.

And the desire to improve continues. “I have now enrolled and am pursuing an MBA in Consultancy and Business Planning,” she emphasizes.
