World Cup: learn about the benefits of football for children

The great stars have shone in the World Cup in Qatar. And as football is a national passion, watching the world cup play inspires boys and girls from all over the country to venture into the sport..

And those who think that the ball on the foot can not transform people’s lives are mistaken. Below, see how the World Cup helps boys and girls, and what football benefits for children.

Everyone’s cup

With real chances of winning the sixth championship, the Brazilians came together to cheer together. And watching World Cup games with friends and family helps to bring a sense of togetherness and belonging to the group. After all, it is a moment of relaxation, which is full of affection. In other words, it is a perfect occasion to create traditions and memories that will mark the lives of children..

Also, the World Cup is a great way to experience mixed emotions. That’s because matches bring anxiety, joy for victory and sadness for defeat. It’s the perfect opportunity to teach boys and girls how to deal with the frustration of losing something and also how to celebrate winning in a way that is respectful of their opponents.

Finally, another important point is being able to be directly inspired by the trajectory of Brazilian masters. Big names such as Richarlison and Neymar started out playing soccer in floodplain fields and, today, they are among the best players in the world. It’s a way to encourage admiration for other people’s work. In addition, it shows children that it is possible to transform life through work, something that is not exclusive to football.

Football for kids

But it doesn’t stop there: more than watching the matches on TV, the World Cup can serve as an inspiration for children to practice football. The practice of sport brings several physical and psychological benefits, which help in the development of children.

For starters, physical activity helps with motor development. That is, it helps to improve motor coordination, balance, the notion of space and even the rhythm of the child.

In addition, football is a collective and social sport. During the game, they end up having contact with teammates and opponents, creating relationships and social ties. It is also an excellent opportunity to learn how to work in a team. After all, the success of a team depends on the work of each one and the collaboration between all.

It is also worth remembering that sport is an excellent and fun tool to work on understanding the rules. After all, for the match to work out, you need to understand and respect the rules of the game, how not to catch the ball with your hand and even what is offside

As the sport is fast, the child needs to develop his side of pondering and making decisions. She needs to know who to pass the ball to and when to shoot on goal, for example.

Children will also develop a sense of discipline. After all, the more she practices, the better she will get. And she can take her reasoning to other areas, such as school subjects, improving her performance in the classroom.

Football at Ramacrisna

Knowing all the benefits, the Ramacrisna Institute bets on the practice of soccer for children in two of its projects. At the Ramacrisna Educational Support Center, the methodology proposes to democratize physical activity and leisure with quality, promoting health and well-being. Sport is capable of favoring human development, demonstrating its social impact and transforming power. They are sports and pedagogical practices, recreational and cultural activities for the formation of citizen values on the court, at school, on the street and in life.

For each meeting, the instructors create a participatory environment, capable of giving the children a voice, using dialogue as a mechanism for interaction and resolution of differences. Negotiating peer-to-peer rules offers life skills development and incorporates the gender dimension.

In addition to soccer and futsal, students also participate in volleyball and shuttlecock matches. The project also offers judo workshops.

In the Construindo o Futuro project, sponsored by Petrobras, sport is used in a recreational way. In this way, it promotes greater interaction between the participants and, of these, with the instructor, as it aims at a playful approach to the activities and provides students with pleasure, creativity, motivation, reducing the level of anxiety and stress, promoting better learning and interest in the sport.

In addition to field soccer and futsal, the project has basketball, shuttlecock, capoeira, volleyball and zumba workshops. Construindo o Futuro activities are exclusive to residents of the Imbiruçu, Colônia Santa Isabel and Petrovale neighborhoods, neighboring REGAP, in Betim-MG.

Over more than 60 years of history, Ramacrisna has already transformed the lives of almost 2 million people. You can contribute to the maintenance of our work. Get in touch and learn how to help.
