Palácio das Artes Hosts “The Colors of Clube da Esquina” with Special Participation from the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra

On June 26 and 27 at 9 PM, the Grande Teatro Cemig at Palácio das Artes in Belo Horizonte will set the stage for a historic musical event: the concert “The Colors of Clube da Esquina.” This spectacle will feature founding members of the Clube da Esquina movement, including Lô Borges, Beto Guedes, Toninho Horta, and Flávio Venturini, along with artists influenced by this movement, such as Seu Jorge, Mônica Salmaso, Joyce Moreno, Fernanda Takai, and Céu.

Dedicated to Milton Nascimento, the concert will showcase new arrangements by Wagner Tiso, under the baton of conductor Eliseu Barros, with artistic and musical direction by Robertinho Brant. The repertoire will include iconic songs such as “Um girassol da cor do seu cabelo,” “Um gosto de sol,” “Nascente,” and “Nada será como antes.”

A special highlight of the event will be the participation of the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra from the Ramacrisna Institute, comprising 40 talented musicians—students from the Institute. Conducted by maestro Eliseu Barros, the orchestra promises to bring deep emotion to the songs of Clube da Esquina. “It is an honor for the orchestra to participate in an event of this magnitude alongside such renowned artists from our country. We are all very excited and ready to give our best on a night that will surely be remembered by everyone,” said maestro Eliseu Barros, emphasizing the event’s importance to the orchestra.

Solange Bottaro, vice president of the Ramacrisna Institute, also expressed her satisfaction: “For us at the Ramacrisna Institute, it is a great pleasure to see our orchestra participate in such a historic moment. We believe music is a powerful tool for transformation, and being on this stage alongside so many icons is an immense achievement.”

The concert is part of a broader project celebrating the legacy of Clube da Esquina, which also includes the release of two double albums with previously unreleased recordings by the same artists later this year. This event promises to be a milestone in Belo Horizonte’s musical history, celebrating the rich heritage of Clube da Esquina and offering an unforgettable experience for the audience. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend this unique show and support the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra in action.

About the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra

In June 2005, the Ramacrisna Institute created the Youth Orchestra to bring the beauty of instrumental music into the lives of at-risk children and young people in the Vianópolis community in Betim, aged 12 to 24. Through this project, 40 musicians attend classes in music theory and practice with string, wind, and percussion instruments. The renowned Barros family teachers, Alexandre (wind instruments) and Elias (violin), join Maestro Eliseu in promoting the musical development of these talented musicians.

About the Ramacrisna Institute
