ESG: investing in social projects brings returns for companies

More than 80% of purchase decisions are influenced by the brand’s association with projects that bring social return. Discover Ramacrisna’s professional courses and invest in ESG.

The “social” is a fundamental part for companies that invest in ESG. According to a survey carried out by Union, in partnership with Webster International, it was found that 87% of Brazilian consumers prefer to buy products or services from companies with social responsibility. They can even pay up to 10% more for goods from these organizations.

In addition to attracting consumers, companies that invest in social projects and ESG also have a competitive advantage among shareholders, standing out in the market.

One of the most efficient ways to implement investments in social projects and, consequently, in ESG, is to find partners who can support and carry out actions that bring return to society..

This is the case of Instituto Ramacrisna, which, for more than 60 years, has provided permanent free services, promoting the local development of communities in social vulnerability in 13 cities in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. It is estimated that 1.9 million people have already benefited from at least one of our projects.

Since 1995, Ramacrisna has been offering professional training to young people and adults, promoting inclusion and social inclusion, bringing more quality of life to thousands of families. Over these 27 years of history, more than 10,000 young people qualified.

Ramacrisna’s vocational courses projects generate high returns for society. According to our impact report, for every BRL 1.00 invested, there is a social return of BRL 5.59. Every year, an average of BRL 249,000 is invested in the program.

Vocational courses represent better job opportunities, increasing the monthly income of young people and adults who participate in the program. The average value of income declared by those who got a job after completing the courses is BRL 1,853.00.

In 2021 alone, there were 26 classes of 12 courses, corresponding to 701 qualified students. In addition to better opportunities for young people and adults, supporting Ramacrisna’s vocational courses is investing in the insertion of qualified labor in the job market.

The vice president of Ramacrisna, Solange Bottaro, points out how the courses contributed to the improvement of the region.

“After qualifying professionally, young people in a situation of social vulnerability have better conditions of access to the job market, even enabling them to continue their studies and enter university. All these circumstances are reflected in the community where they live, improving their family’s quality of life and becoming a reference for other young people in the surroundings.”

Companies that want to support Ramacrisna’s professional courses and invest in ESG can either finance projects that already exist at the Institute, or request the formatting of courses on demand. In this way, it can contribute to the search and qualification of employees in the neighborhoods around where the organization operates.

Currently, two projects that were developed on demand are available: Building the Future and Expanding Horizons
