Pedagogical support|Technology and inovation
Instituto Ramacrisna invests in digital inclusion projects that bring technology to children, adolescents and young people.
Digital inclusion is bringing access to technology to as many people as possible. Allowing them to enter the digital world, having contact with information, knowledge and citizenship.
Investing in digital inclusion is also giving more possibilities to get a job, improving CVs, expanding the number of vacancies and facilitating access to registrations for jobs and selection processes.
In post-covid-19 pandemic times, access to technology becomes even more necessary, as online classes and home office work have become practices that must continue even with the resumption of activities.
Therefore, Ramacrisna invests in digital inclusion actions. The most recent was the opening of FabLab, an innovative digital fabrication space. In all of Brazil, there are only 25 units of this type, three of them in Minas Gerais – all in Belo Horizonte. This is the first unit to be implemented in the city of Betim, in a rural area.
FabLab is an innovation laboratory created to stimulate creativity and knowledge through practice, turning ideas into reality. The initiative aims to promote the professional qualification of young people and adults and the digital inclusion of children and adolescents, elementary school students from public schools, through learning programming and basic and intermediate knowledge in technology.

With this, Ramacrisna wants to take inclusion, innovation and cutting-edge technology across regional, social and economic boundaries. In the space, classes, courses and workshops are given, such as Net Girls, focused on the inclusion of women in programming.
In the Xeque Mate project, in addition to chess classes, students participate in Educational Robotics lessons. The activity helps to encourage the creative side, programming knowledge and logical thinking. In addition, it promotes collaborative work, data sharing and interdisciplinarity.
The inauguration of the FabLab also brought changes in the routine of children and adolescents enrolled at the Ramacrisna Educational Support Center (CAER). Daily, they work in the space, either with math and basic computer workshops or using technology to help with school leveling.
With the 3D printer, students do the modeling in different software, in a collaborative way and stimulating creativity. Virtual reality glasses are also available for children and young people, who can use them to get to know distant places and see the world in a different way.
We started the classes of the new Autocad course that is used in areas such as mechanical and civil engineering, for the development of projects and technical drawings, where the student will learn to elaborate technical drawing parts in two dimensions and to create three-dimensional models by creating plans and projects using techniques to save, open and name files, notions of geometry, Cartesian plane, angle, orthogonal projection, program interface presentation, differences between 2D and 3D interfaces.
Ramacrisna also offers courses for young people to find a profession in technology. In the Computer Operator course, professionals learn to assemble, install and repair computers. In addition to receiving training to support local computer networks and to configure equipment and software.
During classes, young people repair computers donated by companies. In addition to learning how to maintain the machines, after the repair they are given to children at the Ramacrisna Educational Support Center – CAER. The distribution is done via lottery among those who are participating and frequent in all the workshops and do not have a computer at home. Families sign the return commitment if the equipment stops working, so that Ramacrisna can be disposed of correctly, thus avoiding inappropriate disposal, polluting the environment.
Another course offered is Industrial Robotics, in which students learn concepts of efficiency and safety for programming development, industrial process control logic and industrial robot manipulation and programming.
All these projects are put into practice with the help of partner companies and sponsors, which are part of our chain of good. You can help us bring technology to more people. Donate to Ramacrisna and contribute to digital inclusion.
