Chess players from the Ramacrisna Institute in Betim excelled in several categories
Last weekend, the 15th stage of the Metropolitan Chess Circuit, held at the Associação Mineira de Cultura Nipo-Brasileira in Belo Horizonte, brought together young talents in an exciting contest of strategy and skill. The competition was attended by 96 participants from various municipalities in Minas Gerais and, over the course of the Circuit, more than 500 chess players competed in the different stages of the competition.
The Ramacrisna Institute, located in Betim, participated with 13 students from the VALE – Vencer, Acreditar, Lutar, Engajar (Winning, Believing, Fighting, Engaging) project, run by the institution and sponsored by Vale through the Federal Sports Incentive Law, who excelled in their respective categories.
The vice-president of the Ramacrisna Institute, Solange Bottaro, celebrated the achievement and highlighted the impact of chess on the students’ development. “Chess has been a transformative tool for our young people, not only as a sport, but also as a way of developing logical reasoning, concentration and decision-making. These results show how the Ramacrisna Institute has been excelling in the sport, and this is a source of great pride for all of us. “, he emphasized.
Bruno Jacomini, the Institute’s chess teacher, highlighted the students’ daily efforts to achieve good results. “They train with great dedication, attend weekly classes and face challenges with courage. This achievement is the result of a lot of commitment and collective work. They are examples of how, with discipline and focus, we can go very far,” she said.
