Ramacrisna Welcomes Professors and Students from Liverpool Hope University

Partnership Between Institutions Celebrates 20 Years

This Thursday, August 8th, professors and students from Liverpool Hope University will arrive at the Ramacrisna Institute in Betim for another edition of the Globalized Solidarity project. The partnership between the English university and Ramacrisna celebrates 20 years, and the Brazilian institution is the only non-English-speaking organization participating in the project.

The exchange program will last 30 days, during which the group will have the opportunity to engage in an enriching cultural and knowledge exchange, developing artistic and educational activities with students from various branches of the Institute, such as the Ramacrisna Educational Support Center (CAER), Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra, Adolescent Apprentice Program, FabLab (Fabrication Laboratory), and others.

Solange Bottaro, Vice President of Ramacrisna, celebrates the partnership that has lasted for two decades. “We joyfully celebrate these 20 years of collaboration between the Ramacrisna Institute and Liverpool Hope University. Over the years, we have reaped the benefits of a rich exchange of cultural and educational knowledge with the groups that have been with us. Liverpool Hope University, with its long history of excellence, has been an incredible partner, and we are grateful for yet another year of fruitful collaboration,” she emphasizes.

Participating in the project this year are professors Pinar Oztop, with a background in psychology and early childhood education, and Simona Palladino, an Italian social scientist with training in oral history and filmmaking; along with students William James, studying Drama and Theatre Studies; Phoebe Kate Chapman, a student of Psychology and Childhood and Youth Studies; and Chloe Jynx Greenlay, a student of Sociology and Childhood and Youth Studies.

Liverpool Hope University has a history spanning more than 175 years. It was ranked as the best university in Liverpool, UK (The Complete University Guide 2022), and maintains high academic standards and research-based teaching. One of the university’s main goals is to provide a transformative experience for students and personal development throughout the course. Liverpool Hope University seeks bright and promising students, regardless of background, to open opportunities for those traditionally excluded from higher education.
