MPMG/CAO-TS and FUNDAMIG Host the 19th National Third Sector Meeting

Event Marks the Inauguration of the State Coordination for Private Foundations

The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais (MPMG), through its Center for Support to Prosecutors in Charge of Oversight of Foundations and Intersectoral Alliances (CAO-TS), along with the Minas Gerais Federation of Private Law Foundations and Associations (Fundamig), will host the 19th National Third Sector Meeting (ENATS) on September 26-27 in Belo Horizonte.

With the theme “The Power of Civil Society in Ensuring Fundamental Rights,” the event will bring together representatives from social organizations, governments, and the private sector to discuss key issues for strengthening the Third Sector.

The official opening will take place on September 26 at 6:00 PM, featuring notable authorities and a keynote address by sociologist Neca Setubal, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Tide Setubal Foundation and columnist for Folha de São Paulo. The evening will also include a cocktail reception celebrating Fundamig’s 30th anniversary.

Technical sessions will be held on the afternoon of September 26 and throughout the day on September 27, including panels and roundtable discussions with professionals from various sectors, as well as state prosecutors from Minas Gerais and other regions.

According to Fundamig’s President, Solange Bottaro, the 19th ENATS is committed to innovation and adapting to the evolving demands of the Third Sector. “In addition to the traditional lectures and roundtables, this year’s edition introduces esteemed guest speakers and innovative topics designed to foster collaboration and idea exchange among professionals, experts, and the public. ENATS 2024, with its revamped agenda, aims to create a more collaborative and stimulating environment, promoting cutting-edge discussions and offering tangible solutions to today’s challenges,” Bottaro stated.

Inauguration of the State Coordination for Private Foundations
The event will close with the inauguration of the State Coordination for Oversight of Private Law Foundations (Ceave), under CAO-TS, in the presence of Minas Gerais’ Attorney General, Jarbas Soares Júnior. As explained by Justice Prosecutor Tatiana Pereira, Ceave is a groundbreaking initiative of the MPMG to enhance the oversight of private foundations. “The creation of Ceave was planned to bring greater efficiency, consistency, and specialization to the MPMG’s oversight of these institutions. ENATS is an event that raises public awareness about the importance of the Third Sector and facilitates intersectoral dialogue. The inauguration of the Coordination at the end of its 19th edition reinforces the Public Prosecutor’s Office’s commitment to strengthening foundations,” Pereira emphasized.
