Inside Ramacrisna: know the story of Vinicius Duarte

It was at Ramacrisna that he had his first professional experience, as a young apprentice at FIAT. Today, at the age of 17, he has managed to work at another company as an administrative assistant and, in addition to his good resume, he also has many dreams for the future.

This whole story started because of the desire to learn a musical instrument, a passion that turned into a hobby, which he still practices today. Know this story.

 Passion for music

Since he was a child, Vinicius has been passionate about sertanejo (a typical Brazilian musical genre) and, for that reason, he wanted to learn to play the guitar and viola caipira (a typically Brazilian musical instrument present mainly in the sertanejo). So he bought the first instrument and then two more. Today, he is proud of the three guitars he owns.

But just having the instrument didn’t solve the problem. So, he looked for classes at Árvore da Vida Institute. There, he took part in guitar lessons for two years and flute lessons for one year. At the age of 14, the teachers at this institute introduced him to the Ramacrisna Teen Apprentice program.

He participated in the selection process and got a job as a young apprentice at FIAT. It took two years, until the contract was terminated. But less than a month later, Vinicius got a new job placement at another company. “I like to say that my professional career was started because of my passion for music”, says Vinicius.

Future vision

“Both the Ramacrisna and the Árvore da Vida mean a lot to me. Without these two institutions I would not be in the position I am in today”, says Vinicius. He attributes his successful trajectory to the theoretical and practical classes of the formation of the Apprentice Ramacrisna and to the company’s daily life the quality of his curriculum.

“Participating in Ramacrisna’s classes made me a good professional. Study the concepts, the sectors of the company, information technology. I learned a lot. When I joined the company, I went through two sectors, learning more every day“, he believes.

Today, he dedicates himself to his new job and, in his free time, enjoys music as a hobby. In addition, he dreams of the next steps in his career: studying Agricultural Engineering and Administration and, later, starting his own company. “It encourages me to follow what I’ve learned. And maybe when I have my company, I can make a partnership with those who helped me”, says Vinicius, referring to Ramacrisna Institute and Árvore da Vida.

“Ramacrisna not only gave me professional experience, but also a guide for my career. What I want to be. Before, I didn’t know anything. Today, I managed to create an experience when I was 17 and I hope to improve more every day”.

Along the way, he found good professors and colleagues who helped him and who he wishes to thank. “On my résumé, I have a little piece of each person who worked with me, who gave me a tip. So, my résumé represents a lot each partnership I’ve made over these two and a half years”, he concludes.

About Apprentice Ramacrisna

The Ramacrisna apprenticeship program has existed since 2005 and has already trained more than 3,600 young people from 13 cities in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. One of them was Vinicius.

Ramacrisna is responsible for making a pre-selection of the teenager among the members of the Young Peaple of the Future project, a preparatory course for those interested in becoming apprentices.

These young people are hired by partner companies, which are the places where the apprentices will work. In addition to the practical part, the teenagers receive training in the area related to the performance of the company with which they have a professional relationship. Thus, the young apprentice performs the practical part in the company for 4 days and 1 day goes to the Ramacrisna Institute for studies related to citizenship education, psycho-pedagogical monitoring, personal marketing, among other areas of knowledge.

Apprentices are paid for the entire period. In addition to the remuneration of money, for many young people, this is the opportunity to enter the labor market and gain new perspectives on life.

Companies are also benefited, because they receive qualified and prepared labor for the job. In addition, the chances of being hired are high, which leads to savings in selection processes and training.
