Guilherme’s first contact with Ramakrishna took place in 2019, with the Jovem de Futuro project. Today, he assists teachers in FabLab classes.
When he signed up for Ramacrisna’s Jovem de Futuro project, Guilherme Guimarães Nascimento had no idea that he would be part of the Institute. At that time, he was able to develop his social side more and, later, he had the opportunity to receive his first salary through the Ramacrisna Apprentice project.
But he gave up the opportunity to dedicate himself to the Institute. Today, the young man is an instructor at FabLab Ramacrisna and helps children and teenagers to discover new skills.
Know this story:
It was in 2019 that Guilherme applied for the selection process of the Young People of Future project. In addition to learning the basics of the corporate world, he found the course an opportunity for personal growth.
“It was a very good period, it helped me feel more comfortable to communicate in public, because I was always very shy, you know?”, he recalls. He also highlights how useful it was to be able to receive basic administrative skills.
Two years later, in June 2021, the boy got an opportunity as a young apprentice, at the Santa Edwiges company. The occasion made Guilherme know, in practice, the job market. In addition, he received training from the Ramacrisna Adolescent Apprentice.
This made him able to know, even more, the responsibilities. “It was my first salary. So I had to learn to manage time, money and responsibilities,” he says. “In addition to the commitment to always provide a quality service, well done and organized”, he highlights.
Guilherme says that he was always very interested in the area of technology, but the decision to choose a course in college was not something so simple to make. “I did a lot of research on the courses in the area and I identified more with the Information Systems course, because I want to work in the area of programming and systems development, which today is an area in need of qualified professionals and has good remuneration”. He started the course in August 2021 and since then he says that it has been a very good experience, where he is learning a lot and being more and more sure that he made the right choice..
Less than a year as a young apprentice, in May 2022, Guilherme found out about an internship at FabLab Ramacrisna. He participated in an interview and got an even better opportunity: he was hired as a technology assistant at the Institute.
For him, being at Ramacrisna is the perfect opportunity to put into practice the content of the classes and to learn even more, complementing the content of the college. “At FabLab, I apply what I learned and practice my knowledge about programming logic, operating system and data modeling, teaching CAER children and robotics classes”.
Even with little time on the job, he has high praise for his new job. “It has been a very good experience. It’s a super pleasant environment, with people who welcome you and treat you super well”, he says.
He says that it has been an intense period of knowledge in which he has been able to understand how he likes to help other people. “It’s an environment where I’m always learning new things and developing a lot as a professional and especially as a person. The feeling of helping people is a very good thing and teaching is also wonderful”, he points out..
Guilherme does not hide his gratitude for the Institute and intends to take advantage of the possibilities he has at work. “Ramacrisna was and is being fundamental in the construction of my career. I’m just at the beginning and I still have a lot to learn, but just having Ramacrisna as a starting point is already sensational. Here the opportunity to learn and grow is huge and that motivates us a lot”, he adds.
And, as the story is just beginning, Guilherme has many plans for the future: “I hope I graduate from college and become a great professional, build my family and be happy. I hope to learn a lot.”.
FabLab, Guilherme’s workplace, is an innovation laboratory created to stimulate creativity and knowledge through practice, turning ideas into reality. The initiative aims to promote the professional qualification of young people and adults.
In addition, it promotes the digital inclusion of children and adolescents through the learning of programming and basic and intermediate knowledge in technology. With this, Ramacrisna wants to take inclusion, innovation and cutting-edge technology across regional, social and economic boundaries.
It is one more possibility of being able to transform the lives of young people, like Guilherme and almost 2 million other people in social vulnerability in Betim and other municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of BH. Be part of our chain of good. Click and learn how to help.
