Inside Ramacrisna: know the story of Gabriela Luíse Loregian de Souza

At the age of 14, Gabriela is part of the first class to complete the Ramacrisna Net Girls course. She is also part of the Young People of Future project and is waiting for her first professional experience.

Gabriela Loregian, 14, is one of 18 girls who completed the first class of Net Girls a project by Instituto Ramacrisna. She proudly says that she learned about technology and programming and that, with the course, she discovered that she had several skills in the area.

Now, she is part of the Young People of Future project and is preparing to become an Young Apprentice. It will be the first step towards a professional career. Discover part of this story.

Mother’s Love Passed on to Daughter

Gabriela says that, since she was a child, she has heard about the Institute. But it was after her mother started a job at Ramacrisna that she actually came to know the place. “My mother always told me how wonderful the place was. She told me about the library and, as I am passionate about books and reading, one day I went to meet her and soon fell in love with the Institute”, she recalls.

Then, Gabriela joined the Ramacrisna Educational Support Center (CAER). There, she participated in various activities, including chess – her favorite. It was also an opportunity for the teenager to go to the library.

Then the Net Girls project started. “It was my peak at the Institute”, she summarizes. The course began to be held in the CAER building and was later transferred to FabLab, a space dedicated to Ramacrisna technology. “It was gratifying to see the project growing and FabLab being built, the project is beautiful”, she says.

The Net Girls project aims to include girls in situations of social vulnerability through the use of innovation and creativity when carrying out Technology, Programming and Robotics activities. Launched by Instituto Ramacrisna, the program received funds from Criança Esperança. In addition to technology activities, sports and cultural activities such as dance, chess, judo, among other sports are also carried out..

Gabriela says that Net Girls was not the first project in the area of ​​technology that she participated, but that Ramacrisna has better didactics. “I did a lego EV3 robotics course and a programming course that were good, but not the same, it is today, where I can easily program and make applications”, she compares.

She believes that Net Girls has an essential role in its future: “I learned a lot in activities about applications, software and computer networks. This knowledge will be fundamental to the achievement of my dream, which is to live abroad. The technology area is very promising”, she says.

Ramacrisna: personal growth and new possibilities

In addition to knowledge, Gabriela believes that participating in Net Girls has brought her personal and social growth. “Participating in Net Girls was my salvation. The beginning of the year was the beginning of the “post-pandemic” inclusion and interacting with the other girls was essential, besides that I learned a lot about technology, it was a leap from a discovery I had, where I was really sure I was good at it. The course was more than a curriculum for me, it was a discovery”, she analyzes.

Now, Gabriela is part of the Young People of Future, a preparatory course for the Young Apprentice project. With a workload of 80 hours, students learn important concepts necessary to start their journey towards the job market. These are topics such as: public speaking, job interview guidelines, ethics, customer service and interpersonal relationships..

According to the company’s demand, profile analysis and adolescent performance during the course, the Young People of Future are indicated to companies to apply for job vacancies as apprentices. It is the beginning of a professional trajectory. “Ramacrisna will be my first contact with the world of work, now that I am participating in the Young People of Future, the learning I had here will help me for the rest of my life”, she believes.
