Festival celebrates 20 years of the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra with free concerts in Betim

Performances kick off the calendar of celebrations for the Orchestra’s 20th anniversary, a symbol of cultural and social impact

On June 26 and 27, the Ramacrisna Institute will begin celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra with a free festival filled with music, art, and emotion. The Ramacrisna Music Festival – 20th Anniversary Special will be held at the Institute’s headquarters in Betim and marks the kickoff of a series of commemorative events that will be held throughout the year to celebrate the Orchestra’s transformative trajectory.

There will be two days of attractions open to the public, bringing together guest artists alongside the Orchestra’s young musicians. On the 26th, at 2 p.m., the Orchestra will share the stage with Grupo Trampulim in a show that mixes music, theater, and circus, filled with humor and emotion. On the 27th, also at 2 p.m., it will be Trio Amaranto’s turn to join the Orchestra for a show that promises to enchant the audience. Formed by sisters and singers Marina, Flávia, and Lúcia Ferraz, Trio Amaranto and conductor Eliseu Barros have prepared a repertoire that ranges from good Brazilian music to original songs with harmony and sensitivity.

Closing the program with a flourish, also on the 27th, at 7 p.m., the audience will be able to watch the show “Harmonia em Jazz” (Harmony in Jazz), a special concert by the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra with original arrangements prepared by conductor Eliseu Barros.

For the vice president of the Ramacrisna Institute, Solange Bottaro, this is a moment of pride and emotion. “The Orchestra was created with the purpose of transforming lives through music. Seeing our young people taking the stage with renowned artists and bringing art to so many places is a source of great joy for the entire institution. These are two decades of dreams come true, of talents discovered, and of stories that intersect with Ramacrisna’s mission. It is a celebration of culture, inclusion, and overcoming adversity,” she points out.

The festival also symbolizes an invitation for the community to celebrate the history built over these two decades. “We think of this event as a gift to the community and to everyone who has been part of the Orchestra’s journey. It is a moment of reunion and collective celebration,” says Gabriella Prado, communications coordinator at the Ramacrisna Institute.

And it doesn’t stop there. Gabriella adds that this is just the beginning of a series of commemorative concerts. “This is just the beginning of the celebrations. Over the next few months, we will have other commemorative events that promise to thrill the public. The idea is that we can provide access to music for everyone, after all, this is one of the purposes of our Orchestra,” she says. And she gives us a little spoiler. “In August, we are preparing a concert with great care in the central region of Betim so that the entire population can celebrate with us. And for those who are a little further away, we are preparing a big concert in the capital of Minas Gerais. We will have news soon!” she concludes.
