Adolescent Apprentice Hub arrives in Igarapé bringing new opportunities for young residents of the municipality

Partnership between the Instituto Ramacrisna and the City Hall will expand vacancies in the city to meet the demand of companies

The Instituto Ramacrisna, in partnership with the City Hall of Igarapé, inaugurates, on January 10th, at 10:00 am, the Teenager Apprentice Center, at Rua Tiradentes, 555, Cidade Jardim. This is the second unit opened in partnership with city halls, the first was in Juatuba (opened in September). In addition to the headquarters in Betim, Ramacrisna has a Nucleus in Belo Horizonte and serves eight other cities in the Metropolitan Region

The Young Apprentice Law recently completed 22 years. The norm was enacted in 2000 and is considered a milestone of social inclusion in the country and the gateway to the job market. According to Law 10.097/2000, apprentices are those young people who study, work and receive training for the profession they are training for

The law determines that any company with at least 7 employees must hire young apprentices. The number of apprentices must be equivalent to at least 5% and up to 15% of workers whose functions require professional training. It also brings a series of tax benefits to contracting companies, such as: payment of 2% of FGTS, waiver of paid prior notice and termination fine, among others.

The aim of the project is to train and direct young people aged 14 to 21 to their first opportunity in the job market. The Ramacrisna project offers theoretical training in the following areas: administrative assistant, logistics assistant, bank services assistant, audiovisual assistant, commerce and services assistant, apprentice in music, apprentice in industrial automation, apprentice in welding and apprentice in mechanics of automobiles.

Hundreds of apprentices trained by the Ramacrisna Institute are inserted in companies in cities in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. Hundreds more were hired or hired by companies in the market. Companies such as Tupy, Teksid, Banco do Brasil, Unifort and Unimed have already joined the program.

“The Apprenticeship Program provides companies in Igarapé and the region with an important Social Responsibility action, as it offers young people the opportunity to enter the job market, which will undoubtedly transform their lives. Contributing to raising the level of schooling, increasing family income, expanding their horizons to possible areas of activity and even higher education” says Solange Bottaro, vice president of the Ramacrisna Institute.

“The arrival of the Young Apprentice Program in Igarapé is a valuable achievement for our community! Knowing that this partnership between the City Hall and Ramacrisna will be a gateway to the job market for many of our young people and that, through this opportunity, they will certainly have a promising future, build their life projects and make their dreams come true, is a moment very rewarding”, says the mayor of Igarapé, Arnaldo Chaves.
