The Ramacrisna Institute has open enrollments for the free Basic Informatics and Photography Initiation courses. The classes are part of the Construindo o Futuro project, sponsored by Petrobras through the Petrobras Socioenvironmental Program. The goal is to create new opportunities for children, teenagers and young people living in neighborhoods neighboring Petrobras’ Gabriel Passos Refinery (REGAP) in Betim-MG.

The Basic Computing Initiation course will have two groups (morning and afternoon) exclusively for residents of the neighborhoods of Imbiruçu and Vila Boa Esperança (Betim), with enrollments until 10/14. New classes will also be opened from 10/18 to the neighborhood community Petrovale (Betim), Jardim das Rosas, Petrolina, Cascata, Distrito Industrial de Ibirité, Ouro Negro, Jardim Montreal, Recanto da Lagoa, São Pedro, Lago Azul, Canaã e Quintas da Jangada (Ibirité), Cachoeira, Santa Rosa de Lima, São Pedro, Santa Rita, Masterville, Quintas da Lagoa e Imaculada da Conceição (Sarzedo), with registration until 11/5.

The course takes place in the classroom and covers the handling of Windows Operating System resources, editing and formatting texts, preparing electronic spreadsheets, creating a slide presentation, in addition to browsing, communicating and searching the internet. To participate, the student must be between 16 and 30 years old, with complete elementary education.

The Initiation to Photography course will be intended only for residents of the neighborhoods of Imbiruçu and Vila Boa Esperança. Through theoretical and technical classes, students will learn the history of photography, cell phone photography, digital photography, capture formats and media, camera configuration, among others. Classes are on-site and aimed at people aged 16 to 30 years, also with complete elementary education.

The Construindo o Futuro project started in March 2020 and is sponsored by Petrobras through the Petrobras Socioenvironmental Program. Through Ramacrisna, professional qualification courses, workshops and activities to encourage reading are offered. In all, 3,200 people in situations of social vulnerability, aged between 3 and 40 years, will benefit. All activities are completely free..
