At 18 years old, Rayane Pereira is proud to say that she is an employee of Ramacrisna. She is part of the Institute’s communications sector, while studying Advertising. But four years ago, when she discovered the Institute, she could barely imagine that she would follow this path.
The young woman wanted an opportunity as an apprentice. From then on, her life changed completely. “The Institute has the power to transform lives, and it was no different with me”, she summarizes. Discover this story below.
It was 2020, when Rayane Pereira had her first contact with Ramacrisna. She was 14 years old when a friend told me about an apprenticeship opportunity at a company in Juatuba, where she lives. Very excited, she went after it to get the position, having joined the Adolescent Aprendiz project.
After being trained by Jovens de Futuro, a preparatory course for teenagers who want to become apprentices, she joined the company she wanted so much, working in the Human Resources sector. In addition to the practical part, in Juatuba, she participated in theoretical classes at Ramacrisna.
In total, Rayane spent 1 year and 4 months in the position, learning a lot. At the time, she even considered going to college and building her career in the field.
However, in the last week of her contract as an apprentice at the company, the young woman was surprised by an invitation from the pedagogical coordinator of Adolescente Aprendiz: a vacancy in the Institute’s communications department. She, of course, accepted. “I was in shock! I never imagined something like this would happen in my life. I came back as an apprentice, but now in a totally different environment,” she recalls.
It was the young woman’s first contact with the communications area. She spent 1 year and 4 months as an apprentice at Ramacrisna. At the end of the contract, a surprise came: Rayane was hired. In addition to the job, she was now also sure of the career she wanted to pursue. “I found my passion in the area of communication”, she highlights.
This was the starting point for her to enroll in the Advertising course, while she continues working at the Institute. This makes all the difference to your self-esteem and belief in your future. “From an inexperienced girl in the job market, I became a successful young woman at 18, fulfilled and grateful. Whenever I can, I thank the Institute and the people who supported me and believed in me. Ramacrisna changed my life and the lives of everyone around me,” she praises.
In her day-to-day work, Rayane takes care of Adolescente Aprendiz’s social media, which she considers to be quite a turnaround. “It’s incredible to be part of the Institute’s communications team. I got there knowing practically nothing, and now I have the responsibility of looking after the learning program’s Instagram, which was so important to me. It’s quite a turnaround, right? Sometimes I even stop to think and see how crazy this is, but at the same time, cool,” she says.
But, in addition to its meaning for her personal journey, the work has another very special point for Rayane. “The most rewarding thing is knowing that, even if it’s just a little, I’m helping to impact the lives of teenagers, children and everyone who passes through the Institution. It’s an indescribable feeling,” she reveals.
In addition to continuing to make a difference, Rayane intends to continue her degree and make her career even more solid. “And continue sharing how the Ramacrisna Institute transformed my life,” she says gratefully.
