More than 200 young people from Betim have already completed the audiovisual course at Antenados Multimedia School. Now, a new class, with 15 students, receives classes, which take place three times a week.
During the three-month duration, students have theoretical and practical classes taught by professionals from Antenados Producer. The Ramacrisna Institute project provides opportunities for socially vulnerable young people in Betim to discover a career.
In today’s post, you will learn a little more about how the course works and how audiovisual can help boys and girls.
With a workload of 120 hours, the audiovisual course is divided into four modules: Cinematography, Photography, Video Editing and Design. This is the first time that classes will be divided in this way: before, students received classes with notions of journalism, instead of design.
The goal is for young people between 15 and 22 years old to receive the basics of the area in a well-structured and monitored way. “It’s a unique opportunity that allows you to start a new business, look for vacancies in audiovisual and even arouse interest in deepening your knowledge”, highlights Tiago Abreu, coordinator of Antenados Producer.
Due to the pandemic, classes are being taught in a hybrid way: twice a week, students have online theoretical classes and, once a week, face-to-face practical classes.
Each of the modules of the audiovisual course is taught by a professional from Antenados Producer, specialized in the subject. In addition to the planned classes, they also bring extra content and some of their experience in the job market for students.
During classes, students are evaluated on interest, development activities and a course completion work. At the end of three months, young people receive a certificate, which adds weight to the curriculum. “It is a certificate from a strong institution: the Ramacrisna. It’s not just any audiovisual course, it’s the guarantee that young people really leave here knowing”, says Tiago Abreu.
In addition to the Design module, the audiovisual course has more news. The first is the acquisition of new, high-quality equipment that students can use. This will allow them to have contact with the best and most modern in audiovisual.
But there is also another novelty: the increase in the number of girls on the course. Although they are still a minority (six out of fifteen), they have been conquering more and more places in the audiovisual sector. “This area is still very masculine. But, more and more, we have seen women wanting to break out and doing very well in the audiovisual”, he points out.
Antenados Producer was created in 2007 as a communication project of Ramacrisna Institute. In addition to contributing to the education of young people, through the audiovisual course, the producer also provides video production services, photography, voiceover, among others.
