October is globally recognized for the Pink October campaign, which aims to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention and emphasize the importance of women’s health care. This initiative is crucial for highlighting early diagnosis, which can save lives, and for promoting practices that support women’s health.
At Instituto Ramacrisna, several actions have been carried out throughout the month, strengthening the commitment to women’s well-being. In the hubs of the Casa Project, for example, special activities encourage physical exercise and provide valuable information on breast cancer prevention and care.
The CASA Project (Culture, Social Assistance, and Sports Activities), run by Instituto Ramacrisna in partnership with the Municipal Government of Betim, was designed to bring free activities and courses across the city of Betim. With 24 hubs spread across the city’s 10 regions, it offers sports activities, crafts, music, tutoring, and job training. Learn more about the activities below:
Engaging in physical activities is one of the most effective ways to improve health and prevent diseases. At CASA Project Hub 12, special Ritbox and Localized Gym classes will be held on October 21 and 22 as a way to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity in preventive women’s health.
Ritbox combines fighting movements with high-intensity exercises, helping to burn calories and strengthen the body. Localized Gym, on the other hand, focuses on muscle strengthening and posture improvement, contributing to a healthier life. Check the schedule below:
– Monday (10/21), 7:10 a.m.
– Tuesday (10/22), 7:10 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
These classes provide excellent opportunities for women to care for their bodies and minds, which is essential for women’s health and disease prevention.
In addition, at Hub 20, a fun Zumba special class will take place on October 28 at 9:00 a.m. Zumba combines dance and aerobic exercises, providing a fun and effective workout to improve both physical and mental health. Aerobic exercises help reduce the risk of breast cancer development and are important allies in women’s health care.
Besides physical activities, Instituto Ramacrisna will host a breast cancer prevention talk on October 29 at 9:00 a.m. at the Institute’s headquarters. The talk will be led by nurse Patrícia Santos, from SESMT Clinic, and will cover topics such as early diagnosis, risk factors, and the signs and symptoms of the disease. It will also highlight the importance of self-examination.
Another important awareness initiative is a Discussion Group on Care for Cancer Patients. This activity will take place at CASA Project Hub 19 on October 25 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. This space will offer information sharing and emotional support, promoting care for women’s health during sensitive times like the battle against breast cancer.
Pink October at Instituto Ramacrisna goes beyond breast cancer prevention. It’s a holistic approach to health, promoting women’s physical, emotional, and social well-being. Therefore, the activities not only encourage body care but also provide knowledge and emotional support. All of this is fundamental for tackling diseases and strengthening women’s health care.
