Our Work Projects

Ramacrisna Apprentice

About the Project

The Young Apprentice Program is a Federal Government initiative that proposes measures to encourage the integration of young people, aged between 14 and 24, into the labor market. The program is carried out through accredited institutions that train these young people, refer them to partner companies, and monitor each individual’s development.
The Ramacrisna Institute is one of these institutions. To participate in the Ramacrisna Apprentice Program, you must be between 14 and 21 years old and enrolled in regular education, meaning that the teenager must be at least in elementary or high school. It is worth remembering that this is the only legal way to hire teenagers between 14 and 21 years old. Below this age, the law does not allow it in any way.

How to join the program

To join the Ramacrisna Apprentice Program, the first step is to register with the Talent Bank. This registration does not guarantee an immediate position, but it allows your profile to be considered for future opportunities made available by partner companies.
Positions are filled according to company demand, and registered candidates are evaluated and referred for interviews according to the criteria required by each employer. If selected, the final decision on hiring is made by the contracting company.
To participate, you must not have been an administrative apprentice before.
If you meet these requirements and want to start your journey in the job market, register now in the Talent Bank and stay tuned for opportunities through your registered contacts!

Young People of the Future Preparatory Course

Another option is to take the Jovens de Futuro preparatory course. With a workload of 80 hours, teenagers learn important concepts for taking their first steps in the job market. During classes, they receive lessons on public speaking, participating in job interviews, ethics, interpersonal relationship tips, and customer service.
Based on market demand, profile analysis, and the teenager’s performance during the course, students may be referred to companies to participate in interviews and apply for apprenticeship positions.

What is the apprentice’s job like?

The young person then begins with an initial theoretical workload and only later begins practical work at the company, working four or six hours a day or up to 30 hours a week. In the Ramacrisna apprenticeship program, the teenager spends four days at the company and one day at the Institute, studying the theory in the course they have been assigned.

How much does an apprentice earn?

Apprentices are entitled to receive a proportion of the minimum wage, according to the hours worked. They are also entitled to labor rights such as time off, a thirteenth month’s salary, and paid vacation.

Centers

Currently, the program has centers for theoretical training in the cities of Betim (Centro and Santo Afonso), Juatuba, Igarapé, and Belo Horizonte, but it serves companies throughout the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area.

Discover Program!

As a result of an unprecedented interinstitutional cooperation involving the combined efforts of eleven federal, state, and municipal agencies and institutions, the Minas Gerais Learning Incentive Program – Discover! aims to promote access for adolescents and young people in situations of social vulnerability to apprenticeship programs and professional qualification courses. The Ramacrisna Institute is a partner in the program, responsible for the preparation and support of these young individuals.
