Why take an automotive mechanics course?

The course offers several job opportunities with salaries that can reach R$ 10,000.

The Brazilian automotive sector is undergoing a period of expansion and transformation, making the profession of automotive mechanic increasingly promising. In recent years, the market has seen record sales, growth in demand for maintenance, and a significant increase in revenue from auto parts and services. In 2024 alone, sales of light and heavy vehicles rose 15% over the previous year, the highest rate since 2007, with more than 2.6 million units registered. This scenario is also driven by the increase in the prices of new cars, which has led many consumers to opt for the maintenance of used vehicles, significantly increasing the movement in repair shops in recent years.

This heating up of the market reinforces the need for qualified professionals who are able to keep up with the technological evolution of the industry. The arrival of hybrid and electric vehicles, for example, expands the possibilities for action and requires technicians prepared to deal with new systems and safety protocols. Therefore, professionals who master both the technical side and digital resources will have a competitive advantage in the market.

Aware of this reality, the Ramacrisna Institute offers a free Automotive Mechanics course, which fully prepares students for the job market. The course combines theory and practice in all stages of training, providing a solid foundation in light vehicle maintenance and learning that ranges from technical fundamentals, such as metrology and basic mechanics, to complex electronic injection systems, engines, transmission, suspension, steering, and brakes. The great advantage is the preparation to also work with hybrid and electric vehicles, always with an emphasis on safety, quality, and environmental preservation.

With this training, automotive mechanics will be prepared to work in different contexts, for example:

  • Dealerships, auto malls, and automotive centers—which offer stability and commissions based on productivity;
  • Independent workshops — options with more salary flexibility depending on the clientele;
  • Transportation and fleet maintenance companies — opportunities for those looking for competitive salaries with good stability;
  • Specialized work with hybrid and electric vehicles — high demand for advanced knowledge and safety in procedures.

How much does a professional in this field earn?

The salary of an automotive mechanic varies according to the region, the company, and the professional’s level of experience. In the case of employees under the CLT with 44-hour-per-week contracts, they earn an average of R$ 2,085.47/month, according to data from Portal Salário and CAGED.

At dealerships, the amount varies from R$ 3,000 to R$ 5,500 per month, with occasional commissions. Finally, specialists in hybrid and electric vehicles earn between R$ 4,500 and R$ 7,000 or even R$ 10,000 in large companies for highly qualified professionals.

What are the advantages of Ramacrisna’s automotive mechanics course?

At the Ramacrisna Institute, students are prepared to work with competence, safety, and technical knowledge, all combined with the new technologies of hybrid and electric vehicles.

The content covers:

  • Metrology and basic mechanics;
  • Suspension, steering, and brakes;
  • Transmission (gearboxes and traction systems);
  • Engines (disassembly, analysis, and testing);
  • Electronic fuel injection (diagnosis and adjustment with a focus on energy efficiency);
  • Hybrid and electric vehicles (safety standards, techniques with de-energized vehicles, use of PPE).
  • Emphasis on safety, efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Preparation to work in different job profiles or even start a business.

The course lasts 300 hours/classes. To participate, students must be between 16 and 50 years old and have at least completed elementary school. In addition, classes are held in two shifts: afternoon and evening. When registering for the selection process, students choose the best time to take the course.

What sets Ramacrisna apart?

For the specific module on hybrid and electric vehicles, Ramacrisna’s automotive mechanics course features a Toyota Prius — a hybrid vehicle made possible through a partnership with Petrobras, as part of the Building the Future project. This gives students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of this new generation of vehicles in practice.

The module covers everything from the operating principles of hybrid and electric systems to safety standards for handling high voltage in vehicles. Guidance is also provided on the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the precautions necessary to perform maintenance with the vehicle de-energized, ensuring safety in procedures. With this, the Institute anticipates the demands of the automotive market, which, according to ANFAVEA (National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers), is expected to double in size by 2030, and strengthens its position as a benchmark in training young people for the future of mobility, combining technological innovation, sustainability, and professional training of excellence.
