The Ramacrisna Institute Hosts the Opening Ceremony of World Creativity Day 2026

The event features over 100 free activities and highlights creativity as a driver of social and economic transformation

The Ramacrisna Institute in Betim will host the 2026 edition of World Creativity Day (WCD). The institution will host the event’s official opening on April 18, bringing together experts, educators, and local leaders for a program focused on innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and social impact.

The program at the institution’s venue in Betim will feature project presentations, debates, and cultural activities, bringing together professionals from the organization itself and guests from the city.

Recognized as the world’s largest collaborative creativity movement, World Creativity Day arrives in the capital of Minas Gerais with over 100 free activities taking place between April 18 and 23 at various venues in Belo Horizonte. The initiative connects different fields of knowledge and promotes the exchange of ideas focused on social and economic development.

Ramacrisna’s vice president, Solange Bottaro, highlights the importance of integrating the event with the work already carried out by the institution. “Hosting the opening of World Creativity Day is a great opportunity to show how creativity is already part of our daily lives. At Ramacrisna, we constantly work to develop our students’ potential through education, technology, and innovation,” she states.

She also highlights the social impact of the initiative. “We believe that creativity is a powerful tool for transformation. When we have the opportunity to connect our young people with professionals, ideas, and new possibilities, we broaden horizons and contribute directly to building a more just and inclusive future.”

Diverse programming and a focus on local leadership

The opening event at Ramacrisna will feature a dynamic program, including presentations of success stories such as the “Girls in Technology” projects from Colégio Cotemig, the Ramacrisna FabLab—a digital fabrication lab—and the video production company Antenados, all of which are part of the institution.

Among the highlights is the “Ramacrisna Challenge,” which invites participants to solve problems with a focus on creativity and innovation, as well as a panel discussion on innovation and creativity in Betim, bringing together experts from different fields.

The event will also feature cultural moments, interactive activities, and tributes, reinforcing the collaborative and inspiring nature of WCD.

Creativity as a driver of development

World Creativity Day takes place against a backdrop of growing recognition of the creative economy. In Brazil, the sector already accounts for about 3.5% of GDP, generating over R$ 230 billion annually and creating millions of jobs, according to data from FIRJAN.

In Belo Horizonte, the event engages directly with an expanding creative ecosystem that brings together initiatives in technology, culture, entrepreneurship, and social innovation. The festival’s goal is to expand connections and strengthen networks, positioning creativity as a central element for urban development.

About WCD

The festival is led by Morena Golbes, a specialist in technology for social impact and women’s leadership in innovation, who heads the BH Mais Criativa movement. The local event is supported by a master sponsorship from Faculdade Cotemig, sponsorship from Pessoa Comunicação, and support from hosts such as P7 Criativo, Instituto Ramacrisna, Casa Palma, Órbi Conecta, Centro de Referência da Juventude (CRJ), UniBH, and Casa Alagoas, among other institutional partners.

The event’s organization reflects the very essence of creativity: collaboration. In Belo Horizonte, the movement is supported by a curatorial board, ambassadors, inspirers, and dozens of volunteers, who work alongside local leaders to build an open, diverse program connected to the contemporary challenges facing cities.
