Ramacrisna Institute honored by BrazilFoundation at São Paulo 2025 Gala

On Tuesday (2), the Ramacrisna Institute was recognized as one of 25 Brazilian organizations supported by BrazilFoundation that stand out for their excellence, innovation, and leadership in promoting social transformation in the country. The award was presented during the São Paulo 2025 Gala, held at Casa Fasano, in celebration of BrazilFoundation’s 25th anniversary.

Representing the Institute, Vice President Solange Bottaro attended the event and took the stage to receive the award on behalf of everyone who, over nearly seven decades, has contributed to the impact generated by Ramacrisna. “Being recognized by BrazilFoundation, an institution that has been transforming social investment into real impact for 25 years, is extremely exciting. This tribute celebrates every student, collaborator, partner, and donor who believes in the strength of our work,” she said.

With the theme “Honoring the past, celebrating the future,” the Gala brought together about 350 guests, including philanthropists, entrepreneurs, artists, and social leaders committed to building a more just and sustainable Brazil. The evening celebrated the trajectory of BrazilFoundation, founded in 2000 by journalist Leona Forman with the purpose of connecting international philanthropy to grassroots social initiatives in Brazil.

Throughout its history, the foundation has invested more than US$57 million in 1,050 organizations in 300 cities, impacting thousands of lives across the country. The event also aimed to raise R$ 2 million, which will be allocated in 2026 to strengthening initiatives in the areas of the environment, racial and gender equality, and education, themes that reflect the institution’s ongoing commitment to social development.

Successful partnership

The partnership between the Ramacrisna Institute and BrazilFoundation began in 2020 through the Ampliando Fronteiras (Expanding Frontiers) project, carried out in the city of Igarapé. With the goal of providing professional training to adolescents and young people in situations of social and personal vulnerability, promoting their entry into the job market, the project has already benefited more than 600 people.
