The experience in the Ramacrisna Apprentice program opened up professional paths and helped define choices that continue to impact her life
The trajectory of a young apprentice is not limited to just their first job. It is also the beginning of a professional life with purpose, autonomy, and social transformation. The story of Daniela Suzi da Silva is a concrete example of how well-targeted opportunities, combined with education and humanized support, have the power to change destinies and how the Ramacrisna Institute acts in this process.
Daniela learned about the Institute at a young age through her father, who has worked at the institution for over 17 years. Her close contact with the institution sparked her interest in participating in one of the most important programs for integrating young people into the job market: the Ramacrisna Apprentice Program. The journey that began in her teens has now consolidated into a strategic position at the institution.
Daniela participated in the project between 2011 and 2012. At that time, the expectation was to gain professional experience and better understand the dynamics of the job market. However, the experience went far beyond that.
She began her career at a Ramacrisna partner company, working in the logistics and accounting sectors. During the program, she developed essential skills such as responsibility, organization, autonomy, and vision for the future, skills that are part of the comprehensive training offered by the Institute.
After Daniela received positive feedback for her performance in the logistics sector, she began working in the company’s accounting department. From then on, she fell in love with numbers, directly influencing her choice to pursue a degree in Accounting.
“The program provided me with practical knowledge and helped me discover my professional vocation,” recalls Daniela.
Daniela’s story with Ramacrisna did not end at the end of the program. A few months after her apprenticeship contract ended, the young woman was hired by Ramacrisna itself, beginning a new stage in her professional career. While working, between 2014 and 2018, she studied for a degree in Accounting, balancing her studies with her professional routine, a period marked by discipline, dedication, and many challenges.
Daniela highlights one of the moments that marked her career during this period. “In 2017, I went through a remarkable and transformative moment in my career. I was invited to join Ramacrisna’s accounting department. There, I was able to put into practice all the knowledge I was acquiring in college, combining technique with a new responsibility and purpose. It was a very important step in my professional development,” recalls Daniela.
Recently, she was entrusted with a new challenge: leading the department in which she worked. “My biggest challenge came with this invitation. It is not only an advance in my career, to which I am so dedicated, but also an important vote of confidence in my work and a deep sense of responsibility. Taking on this role meant understanding that each number carries decisions, impacts, and lives. It is a demanding challenge, but also extremely rewarding, and one that reaffirms my professional purpose and my pride in contributing to Ramacrisna’s sustainability and credibility on a daily basis,” she points out.
For Daniela, working at Ramacrisna means being part of an environment committed to social transformation, ethics, and purpose. “The best part is being able to see, in practice, the impact of transformation on the lives of program beneficiaries, and recognizing that my own life has also been transformed by this journey within the Institute,” she points out.
“The Ramacrisna Apprentice Program has the power to transform lives and open paths to a promising future,” emphasizes Daniela.
The Young Adolescent Apprenticeship Program is a Federal Government initiative that aims to encourage the legal and protected entry of young people into the labor market. The program is carried out through accredited institutions, which are responsible for theoretical training, referral to partner companies, and monitoring the development of young people.
The Ramacrisna Institute is one such institution. At Ramacrisna, young apprentices begin with theoretical training and then move on to practical training at a partner company. The workload can be four or six hours a day, totaling up to 30 hours a week. In the Institute’s model, adolescents spend four days at the company and one day at Ramacrisna, dedicated to theoretical training.
To participate in the Ramacrisna Apprentice Program, young people must be between 14 and 21 years old and enrolled in regular education, attending at least elementary or high school. It is worth noting that this is the only legal way to hire adolescents in this age group, according to Brazilian law.
The first step is to register with the Ramacrisna Institute’s Talent Bank. This registration does not guarantee an immediate position, but when they become available, the young person is already among the possible apprentices.
In other words, hiring occurs according to market demand. Thus, candidates undergo evaluations and interviews according to each company’s criteria, with the final hiring decision being the responsibility of the employer. To participate, it is necessary not to have been an apprentice in the administrative modality before.
Another gateway is the Youth of the Future Preparatory Course, with a workload of 80 hours. During the course, teenagers learn fundamental concepts for the job market, such as professional conduct, ethics, customer service, communication, interpersonal relationships, and interview preparation. Depending on performance and market demand, students are referred for apprenticeship positions.
Stories like Daniela Suzi da Silva’s show that investing in learning, education, and humanized support is investing in a fairer future, with real opportunities for vulnerable young people.
