Chess players from Betim stand out in the 3rd stage of the Metropolitan Chess Circuit 2025

The students of the Ramacrisna Institute once again stood out in the sports world. On Sunday, April 6, eighteen young chess players from the Institute participated in the 3rd stage of the 2025 Metropolitan Chess Circuit, held in Betim. The competition brought together 123 athletes from various cities in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte and was considered the most competitive edition in the history of the Circuit.

Ramacrisna’s chess players demonstrated technical skill, focus, and sportsmanship, earning nine spots on the podium. As a result, the Institute was recognized as the team with the highest number of awardees in this stage, surpassing the others with more than double the podium finishes.

Among the individual highlights, Ana Júlia Ferreira da Silva Ribeiro took 1st place in the Kids Female category, securing the champion’s trophy. Eight other students reached the podium in their respective categories, receiving medals for placing among the top five.

Chess player and team coach Bruno Jacomini highlighted the technical and emotional progress of the students during the competition. “It was a fantastic experience for everyone. The technical level was extremely high, and even so, our students stood out. This shows how much they’ve evolved through training and daily dedication,” he said.

Bruno also commented on the positive impact of sports on youth development: “More than the podium finishes, what makes us happiest is seeing the personal growth of each student. Chess has greatly contributed to the development of their focus, discipline, and self-confidence,” he concluded.
