Almost two thousand tickets have already been sold for the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra concert.

Free performance celebrating the orchestra’s 20th anniversary takes place on August 15 in Betim

The big concert by the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra in celebration of its 20-year history is just around the corner. The show Clássicos do Rock (Rock Classics) will be presented on August 15, starting at 7 p.m., at Casa da Cultura Josephina Bento, in Betim, and promises an unforgettable night with hits from bands such as Queen, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Beatles, and Guns N’ Roses, as well as icons of Brazilian rock. Admission is free, with tickets available in advance through the Sympla platform.

And the public is responding enthusiastically: almost 2,000 tickets have already been purchased, and they are expected to sell out in the next 15 days. A total of 2,500 tickets are being made available for the event. “We are very happy with the response. This feedback shows that the public recognizes the work of the Orchestra and wants to be part of this historic moment. Anyone who hasn’t secured their ticket yet needs to hurry, because they are likely to sell out soon,” says Solange Bottaro, vice president of the Ramacrisna Institute.

Combining classical and popular music, the concert will also be a showcase for inclusion. “We will have sign language interpreters and audio description throughout the event. We want everyone to be able to feel the emotion of this unique moment,” explains Solange.

To give voice to the great classics, singers Ayla Manso and Gabriel Versieux, from the vocal quartet Art Music, will make a special appearance. Under the baton of conductor Eliseu Barros, the performance will feature new and exclusive arrangements, carefully created to pay tribute to rock with the sensitivity and power of an orchestra. “The proposal is to celebrate not only the 20th anniversary of the Orchestra, but also its entire social, artistic, and transformative trajectory,” highlights Solange.

Created in 2005 with only seven violins, the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra today consists of 50 young musicians, many of them from socially vulnerable communities. Over the years, it has shared the stage with big names in Brazilian music, such as Lô Borges, Flávio Venturini, and Seu Jorge.

The Rock Classics show is produced by the Ramacrisna Institute, through the Federal Government’s Culture Incentive Law, sponsored by Weg, Machado Meyer, Instituto Machado Meyer, TSEA Energia, Fundação TSEA, and supported by the Criança Esperança project, S-Riko, and the Betim City Hall.
