Ramacrisna Institute Shines in the Metropolitan School Chess Circuit

Students from the Ramacrisna Institute excelled at the 2026 Metropolitan School Chess Circuit, held last weekend at the Stellantis Club in Betim (MG). The competition, considered one of the most important events on the school chess calendar, brought together more than 200 participants from different clubs and municipalities across Minas Gerais.

With a delegation of 17 athletes, Ramacrisna won the overall team championship title in both total points and average points per athlete. In individual performance, eight athletes placed among the top five in their categories, securing two titles, two runner-up finishes, and one third-place finish.

In the Absolute Module Zero, the Institute secured 1st and 2nd places, with Enzo Gabriel Ferreira de Almeida and Heitor Lucas de Souza Silva, respectively. In the Women’s Module Zero, the performance was even more impressive, with Ana Júlia Ferreira da Silva Ribeiro taking 1st place, Emanuelly Fernandes Alves 2nd, and Maria Eduarda Reis Silva 3rd, in addition to Letícia Caroline Pereira Gualberto, who placed 5th.

For coach Bruno Jacomini, the result is the fruit of dedication and planning. “This performance is the result of continuous work, which involves not only the technical teaching of chess but also the development of discipline, concentration, and decision-making. The students have been preparing seriously, participating in regular training sessions and mock competitions, which makes all the difference during the matches,” he emphasized.

He also emphasized the importance of tournament experience. “Competitions like this are fundamental to the growth of our athletes. More than the results, it is the experience that builds their confidence and helps them mature both on and off the board,” he added.
