Ramakrishna Institute receives international award in India for its humanitarian work

The Ramacrisna Institute, a benchmark in education, culture, and social inclusion in Minas Gerais, has just won the Global Humanitarian Award for Brazil, one of the most important international recognitions in the social field. The award will be presented during the World Cultural Festival, a global event that celebrates love, unity, and shared humanity, as part of the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

The ceremony will take place in India on October 31, the date reserved for Brazil during the festivities, which began on August 16 and will end on November 23, 2025. The 100-day event honors 100 countries and will feature representatives from one institution in each country. The Ramacrisna Institute will be the only Brazilian representative to receive the recognition, granted by the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission (SMSGHM), an organization that promotes the philosophy “One World, One Family,” uniting initiatives that transform communities through love and service.

Representing the Institute at the ceremony will be Vice President Solange Bottaro and Executive Director Américo Amarante, who will travel to India to receive the award on behalf of all Ramacrisna employees and partners. “Receiving recognition of this magnitude is an immense honor and, at the same time, a great responsibility. Ramacrisna is the result of collective work, built with love and dedication over 66 years. This award belongs to every educator, student, partner, and supporter who believes in our purpose of transforming lives through education and solidarity,” says Solange Bottaro.

Américo highlights the social importance of the award. “The Global Humanitarian Award reinforces that the work done here in the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region reaches global dimensions. It is exciting to represent Brazil and the Institute at an event that celebrates service to others as a universal value. This recognition motivates us even more to continue promoting opportunities and dignity for those who need it most,” adds Américo Amarante.

World Cultural Festival

The World Cultural Festival is part of the Centennial Celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, honoring his message of “Love Everyone, Serve Everyone” and “Always Help, Never Hurt.” For 100 days, the event will highlight inspiring humanitarian initiatives from 100 countries, promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding among nations.
