Event to Feature Theatre, Music, and Dance Performances
On July 6th, starting at 12 PM, Lagoa dos Ingleses will host the inaugural Movimenta Art & Culture Festival. The event aims to democratize access to culture through dance and music, bringing together various social projects from the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region, along with other cultural attractions that will provide a unique moment of interaction for the local community.
The Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the event’s participants, will perform alongside projects like Na Ponta dos Pés and Orquestra dos Meninos das Gerais. Organized by the Espaço Momentum Roberta Lodi, the festival will feature dance and music performances, as well as workshops directly involving the local communities. Roberta Lodi, a dancer and choreographer, has been offering physical and cultural activities to the communities of Alphaville Lagoa dos Ingleses and surrounding areas since 2020, with the goal of creating an inclusive and participatory environment.
Solange Bottaro, Vice President of the Ramacrisna Institute, highlights the importance of the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra’s participation in the festival: “Participating in events like this is very enriching for us, allowing us to showcase our musicians’ talent and the positive impact music can have on people’s lives. It’s an opportunity for cultural integration and exchange that benefits both the participants and the audience.”
The event’s repertoire was carefully selected by Maestro Eliseu Barros, conductor of the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra. “We will present the Queen in Concert show, featuring a varied selection including classics from the famous band Queen, as well as hits from Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) and artists like Frank Sinatra. Our musicians have been preparing intensely to deliver an unforgettable performance. It is a great pleasure for us to represent such iconic songs and share this experience with the audience,” says Maestro Eliseu Barros.
In addition to musical performances, the festival will offer a range of activities for all ages, including dance, children’s play areas, massage and aromatherapy spaces, discussion circles for mothers, and a diverse array of food trucks. The event will also be welcoming to people with special needs, reinforcing its inclusive nature.
About the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra
Founded in June 2005 by the Ramacrisna Institute, the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra was created with the mission of providing children and young people in vulnerable social situations in the Vianópolis community, in Betim, with an immersion in the world of instrumental music. Aimed at young people aged 12 to 24, the orchestra currently consists of 40 musicians who receive lessons in music theory and practice in string, wind, and percussion instruments.
The esteemed Barros family leads the musical training: Alexandre Barros is responsible for wind instruments, while Elias Barros teaches violin. Together, they work alongside Maestro Eliseu Barros, dedicating themselves to the musical development of young talents.
Over its 18 years of existence, the Ramacrisna Philharmonic Orchestra has performed in major cultural venues in the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area, including CCBB, Teatro Bradesco, Cine Theatro Brasil Vallourec, Palácio das Artes, and the PUC Natural Science Museum, among others. Its diverse and high-quality artistic repertoire has attracted collaborations with renowned artists, including Italian tenors Claudio Mattioli and Massimiliano Barbolini, lyric tenor Felipe Peletta, Saulo Laranjeira, Trio Amaranto, DuContra, and the band Tianastacia, among others.
