Ramacrisna promotes live on Sustainable Development Goals

Next Wednesday (09/15), at 2 pm, the Ramacrisna Institute will hold a live on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the participation of the vice president of Ramacrisna, Solange Bottaro. The action is part of the Construindo o Futuro (Building the Future) project, which is sponsored by Petrobras and the Federal Government, and will be broadcast live on Ramacrisna’s YouTube and Facebook.

The Construindo o Futuro project, started in March 2020, with the objective of creating new opportunities for children, adolescents and young people in situations of social vulnerability in the municipalities of Betim, Ibirité and Sarzedo (Minas Gerais), includes several actions aligned with the SDGs. , among them, professional qualification courses, workshops and activities to encourage reading. With this Wednesday’s live, Ramacrisna intends to raise awareness among students and the community about the importance of everyone’s efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda, a global commitment made in 2015 by 193 countries, including Brazil, so that together they can enjoy a better life in the future.

In 2018, in partnership with startup Impact Lab, Ramacrisna launched an Impact Report that used the SDGs as one of the references for developing the study. A survey was carried out involving over 670 people, including students, beneficiaries, employees, volunteers, partners, suppliers, among other stakeholders. Through the collected data, it was possible to identify the SDGs most aligned with the operation of Ramacrisna, represented in the graph, where the size of each bar reflects the degree of involvement of the Ramacrisna projects with the goals.

Aiming to achieve these goals, Ramacrisna recently joined the Movement Minas 2032 (MM2032), which brings together organizations from the three sectors of civil society to accelerate actions towards the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). The measure reinforces the organization’s commitment to applying efforts to achieve the 2030 Agenda goals both internally – with employees, volunteers and beneficiaries – and with partners and the population in general.

The Ramacrisna Institute has been in operation for 62 years and has served nearly two million children, young people and adults who had their lives transformed through art, culture, education, professional training and sports activities. Check out below how these actions contribute to each of the SDGs.

The SDGs in Ramacrisna
