Instituto Ramacrisna joins the SDG Strategy Network

In 63 years, the organization has already impacted the lives of almost 2 million children, adolescents, youth and adults

The Instituto Ramacrisna is the newest member of the ODS Strategy Network (Sustainable Development Goals). With projection throughout the country, the initiative brings together organizations representing civil society, the private sector, local governments and academia. The objective is to broaden and qualify the debate regarding the Sustainable Development goals in Brazil, compiled in the 2030 Agenda.

Several states, companies and Third Sector Organizations have already joined the Strategy Network, which sets goals to be achieved for each of the 17 goals, in a total of 169 goals, to transform Brazil, by 2030, into a country without hunger, with education for quality, socially and economically developed, egalitarian and sustainable

The vice president of Instituto Ramacrisna, Solange Bottaro, praises the initiative. “We are very proud to be part of the movement, aware of the importance of joining the efforts of the various participating segments, when it comes to achieving common goals and objectives, thus significantly expanding results. Adding another important partner in the actions of preserving the planet that the Instituto Ramacrisna develops and at the same time raising awareness not only of our students and employees, but the entire population, is to work towards a greater result”, she emphasizes..

Aligned goals – In 2021, the Ramacrisna Institute joined the Minas 2032 Movement (MM2032), which brings together organizations from the three sectors of civil society, aiming to accelerate actions to meet the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ( UN). Led by businesswoman Adriana Muls, president of Diário do Comércio, in partnership with Instituto Orior, the “Minas Movement 2032 (MM2032) – for global transformation” proposes a discussion on a sustainable and sustainable production model. the establishment of an equally responsible consumption pattern.

For Solange Bottaro, integrating the two movements strengthens the actions already carried out by the Institute, which, since its creation, has been committed and committed to the project of a better life for all, especially the most socially and economically vulnerable. “Being part of these movements brings us closer to other organizations that have the same commitment, facilitating the debate of actions and the formation of new partnerships to make significant advances in the quality of life of the population and in a macro vision, of the preservation of the planet, which is the home of all of us”, reiterates.

Transforming lives – The initiatives are in line with the objectives and proposals of Instituto Ramacrisna, currently recognized as one of the 100 best NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) in Brazil. In 63 years, now completed in 2022, through various projects and actions, Ramacrisna works to transform lives, impacting hundreds of families, residents of Betim and 13 other municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. In these more than six decades, the organization has already served almost two million children, young people and adults, who have had their lives transformed through art, culture, education, professionalization and sports activities.
