Recognition and pride

The Best NGOs Award is given by the Doar and O Mundo Queremos Institutes. This is the fifth consecutive year that Ramacrisna has been ranked among the top 100 NGOs in the country.

“The award takes into account criteria such as management and transparency. Therefore, winning for the fifth year in a row makes us extremely happy and proud. It is the highest award in Brazil and has partnerships with important foundations that evaluate criteria that show the serious work of an organization“, celebrates Solange.

Being among the best social organizations helps to win more partners. Often, when a company wants to do social work, it looks for recognized institutions that provide good work. In the case of Ramacrisna, the awards were responsible for the partnership with BrazilFoundation.

In 2018, the Institute was not only among the top 100 organizations but also received the award for the best NGO in Social Assistance in Brazil

Futhermore to the Best NGOs, Doar Institute also carries out the Selo Doar. In 2019 and 2021, Ramacrisna received the A+ seal in management and transparency standards in the third sector. All these awards are among the main ones in Brazil.

“Over the years, managing to refine the awards, which are so relevant, is not easy. And being in the Best NGOs for the fifth consecutive year makes us very happy. The team is delighted, it brings recognition for the work. Everyone is very happy”, she highlights.

The beginning of the trajectory

The Institute’s first prize was the Abrinq Fundation Model Project, which recognized an example of self-management. “When we look back and see that in 1994 we were already a model, it makes us very proud. That was the beginning of a journey, which woke us up and then nobody held us back”, remembers Solange.

Another milestone in the history of Ramacrisna was in 1997, when it received an honorable mention at the Itaú Unicef Educação Award. Since then, the Institute has been recognized another 5 times, 3 times as a national semifinalist and twice in 1st place in MG, being a national finalist.

In 2014, Solange highlighted two awards: the first is the Minas Millennium Development Goals. In it, the Ramacrisna Educational Support Center (CAER) project was considered the best education project in the state of Minas Gerais.

The other milestone in 2014 was the Minas Gerais Award for Excellence in Management of Third Sector Entities, organized by the Minas Gerais State Secretariat for Planning and Management (SEPLAG). “They are a few years old now, but they are still very relevant. The themes are very important and are a milestone in our history”, she assesses.

Finally, Solange highlights the importance of the Great Place to Work Awards, which Ramacrisna received in 2017 and 2018. In the first of these editions, the Institute competed as the best place to work with private companies and, in the following year, with other third-party entities sector. The awards gained relevance and gave Ramacrisna several appearances in the press

“Of course, all the awards are important, but there are those that are more prominent. Receiving an award means recognition from society. And, if it rewards over so many years, it’s because we really provide a relevant service. Ramacrisna seeks to change aspects of education, brings dignity and new perspectives of life.”
