Passionate about sports, Jaiverson made playing his favorite profession and today helps children from Ramacrisna transform their lives through sports.
Like every child, little Jaiverson Junio loved playing sports. And the place for the games was the Ramacrisna facilities, which are open to the community. Time has passed, but the passion continues.
Therefore, he had the opportunity to enter college and study Physical Education. Today, Jaiverson has the possibility of teaching new children to find in sport a form of leisure and even a hidden talent. All this within Ramacrisna. Discover the story below.
Jaiverson is the Institute’s newest instructor. He is part of Ramacrisna’s sports workshops. Very active, the teacher practices different sports, such as futsal, beach tennis, footvolley, football and volleyball. But this story begins many years ago.
The boy grew up in the Santo Afonso neighborhood, in Betim, close to Ramacrisna. Little Jaiverson was one of the children who took advantage of their free time to play in the Institute’s spaces, allowing him to discover sports. “We can say that Ramacrisna had a huge influence on this sporting formation. In my childhood, I used the Institute’s spaces to practice sports, as they were open. That helped me a lot,” he recalls.
At the time, Ramacrisna had a sand volleyball court inside its headquarters, and Jaiverson was a notable figure in the space. But his formal relationship with the Institute began years later, when he was 12 years old.
His two sisters were already participating in projects at the Institute when he enrolled in the activities. Jaiverson participated in several courses, such as basic computer science and mechanics. Afterwards, he participated in Jovens de Futuro and trained as an administrative assistant.
Jaiverson’s first experience also happened thanks to Ramacrisna, through the Adolescent Apprentice course. He was part of the partner company Betim Parafusos and, at the end of the learning contract, he was hired as an employee. “I stayed at the company for 10 years. Furthermore, I gained a lot of knowledge from the teachers at the time, who gave me advice and tips. That’s where my professional life began,” he highlights.
But perhaps his most important experience at Ramacrisna has to do with sports. “The Institute had a very positive impact on my life. Because of Ramacrisna, I was able to compete in futsal championships and learn other sports,” he says.
Now, he is a physical educator and has the opportunity to pass on this passion. “The experience has been great. Being able to return to the place where I lived for years of my life as a student, returning today as a teacher is very gratifying for me”, he says.
“I hope to be able to continue the work that the Institute offers. In the same way that it helped me to be a better person, I hope to help other people by passing on some of my experience and knowledge. Ramacrisna is important and will always be important for children and teenagers”, he points out.
Despite having some sports, Jaiverson intends to teach them all with the same care and attention. “Although I have focused more on football in my life – I even talk about competing in championships – I want to teach all the sports I know in a broad sense, I don’t want to stick to just one sport”, he highlights.
The new experience can be a challenge, but he faces the opportunity head on and sees it as a way of giving back to the Institute for all the work done with him. “I will spare no effort to repay what Ramacrisna was in my life, so that the Institute can make a difference in the lives of other young people as it did in mine. I will always be grateful to Ramacrisna for the foundation he provided me”, he concludes.
