The Expanding Horizons project is a partnership developed with the Ramacrisna Institute, the BrazilFoundation and the city of Igarapé to train young people in several fields.
BrazilFoundation is an international organization, based in New York and Rio de Janeiro, which works independently to mobilize resources for ideas and actions that promote equality, social justice and economic opportunity for all Brazilians.
Expanding Horizons aims to professionally qualify 306 teenagers and young people, aged between 15 and 29, who live in socially and personally vulnerable situations in the city of Igarapé, while promoting their insertion in the labor market.
The courses are free of charge and the students receive uniform, teaching material and certification.
The classes on Basic IT, Sales and Logistics take place in Igarapé, the ones on Automotive Mechanics, Welding and Installation Electrician take place in the Ramacrisna Institute’s headquarters in Betim.
