Telas Ramacrisna Factory invests in new equipment to increase productivity

After growth in recent years, a company from Ramacrisna Institute modernizes production to meet demand with greater agility

The Telas Ramacrisna factory is investing in increasing the production capacity of its unit in Betim. The company has just received a new and modern automatic equipment for the manufacture of wire mesh for fences. With the novelty, the company should increase production by more than 30%, in addition to serving customers with greater agility and quality.

According to the manager of Telas Ramacrisna, Octávio Figueiredo, the investment was planned to meet the growing demand due to the excellent service and quality of manufactured products, a registered trademark of Ramacrisna. “In recent years, the increase in orders has been considerable. We developed a strategic plan with the objective of improving the factory’s production capacity, so that we can deliver more orders in a shorter period of time, using state-of-the-art technology in the manufacture of wire mesh”, he says.

The new machine is similar to those currently used by the company for making wire mesh, but it is more modern, with high speed technology. “The equipment can produce up to 240 m² of wire mesh per hour, around 45% more than current ones. With it, fences for sports constructions, wire mesh for rural, urban and protection fences for industries and more fences will have a significant improvement in their lead time”, he highlights.

The wire mesh factory was created in the early 70s by Arlindo Corrêa da Silva, founder of the Ramacrisna Institute, with the objective of continuously and securely generating financial income to maintain the organization’s activities. Today, the company is one of the largest wire mesh manufacturers in the entire state of Minas Gerais, with customers from all over Brazil.

The entire financial result obtained from the sale of wire mesh is transferred to the Ramacrisna Institute. Revenue covers about 40% of the institute’s basic expenses, which has made the project a national benchmark for self-sustainability in the Third Sector.

“The expansion of the industry has as its ultimate goal the transformation of lives. This growth will directly contribute to social activities, and directly impact the lives of many people in situations of social vulnerability”, he concludes.
