Wires and Fences

Currently, the Ramacrisna Wire Mesh Factory has 52 products. The wires have several applications, whether in civil construction, construction of fish ponds or even in industrial use.

Fences are a type of wire formed by tripwire strands that intertwine forming diamonds. They are used to fence large areas, such as land, farms, swimming pools and football fields, for example.

At the Factory, you will find two types of wires: galvanized and PVC coated. In each of the types, there are different sizes of wires, which we know as thickness. In addition, several meshes are also available, which are the spaces, the openings, between the steel weaves.

Galvanized

The galvanized wires are made with zinc coated tripwire. As a result, the wire are more durable than traditional wire, more resistant to corrosion and will not rust. That’s because zinc works as a barrier between the wire, air and water. In addition, they have an additional layer of shine.

This type of wire can be used in, for example: 

• plazas, parks, reserves and public spaces;
• works in civil construction, facades, protection and public buildings;
• correctional facilities (prisons and penitentiaries);
• corrals, stud farms, stables, racecourses;
• breeding pigs, wild boar and other swine;
• breeding of ostrich and emus;
• bird nurseries;
• gardens, orchards, vegetable gardens and herbariums;
• farms, ranches, country houses, condominiums, haciendas;
• companies, warehouses, warehouses, industries, security areas, army and airports;
• chicken coops, layers, egg agribusiness;
• sports courts;
• kennels and dog shelters.

 But attention: galvanized wires are not indicated in coastal regions. This is because sea water and salt air are capable of oxidizing zinc, reducing the material’s useful life. For this purpose, PVC coated wires are offered. Outside these areas, wires are highly corrosion resistant.

PVC coated

PVC coated wires are made with braided steel wires. In addition to receiving a layer of zinc in the galvanizing, this also receives another plastic layer of polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC.

This plastic polymer is flame-retardant and quite resistant to abrasive materials, such as acids, for example. In addition, PVC coated wires are more resistant to the effects of the environment, such as the sun, rain and even the sea air. That is, this is an option of wires that is even more resistant than the galvanized ones and much more beautiful.

Another advantage is that this type of fence requires less maintenance, as it does not need painting and is easy to clean.

Social responsability

Ramacrisna is a non-profit institution that, for more than 60 years, has been developing projects in the area of ​​leisure, culture, professional and learning courses for children, adolescents and adults in situations of social vulnerability in 13 cities in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte.

In 1975, the Institute created the Ramacrisna Wire Mesh Factory. The objective was to contribute to the income of the projects and to follow the path of self-sustainability of the institution. More than that, the factory plays an important role in generating income for the community.

Currently, 19 employees are directly employed, not counting service providers who work in areas such as maintenance and logistics services. Thus, the Factory contributes to the generation of employment and income for the community.

The Ramacrisna Wire Mesh Factory has a major social objective: in addition to generating jobs, all profits go to the Institute’s projects. Currently, the transfer to social activities amounts to 28% of the factory’s revenues. This amount is responsible for covering between 35% and 40% of Ramacrisna’s basic expenses.
