The Government of Japan and the Ramacrisna Institute have just entered into a partnership to build a Motorcycle Mechanics School at the Institute’s headquarters in Betim. The signing, which formalizes the donation, took place on Friday afternoon, the 1st, during the opening of the 11th Festival of Japan in Minas.
“Considering the significant increase in the number of motorcycles on the roads, there is a lack of quality professionals to provide proper assistance to them, so this is a very promising market for the future professionals who will be trained in this new project,” celebrates Dr. Expedito Chumbinho, president of the Ramacrisna Institute.
This is not the first partnership between the Japanese government and Ramacrisna. In 2007, the Institute received support for the construction of the Automobile Mechanics School, and in 2017, support came for the construction of the building that currently houses the Teen Apprentice project and the Industrial Robotics course. During the signing, Takashi Manabe, Consul-General of Japan in Rio de Janeiro, emphasized this relationship: “The Ramacrisna Institute does a beautiful job in Betim and the region, enhancing the skills of local youth, supporting them in seeking employment. I hope this project contributes to the learning of young people and strengthens the friendship between Japan and Brazil.”
Construction of the new 200m² space will begin soon, and it is expected that the free classes will start still in 2024. Yamaha Brazil has also joined the project and will donate motorcycles and tools for the students’ use, as well as offer training to the teachers and install a workstation within the Motorcycle Mechanics School. “For us, it is a great honor to be part of this initiative because we strongly believe in people’s education as a tool for transformation. This is a global guideline of the Yamaha group that we are now putting into practice here in Minas Gerais, which delights us very much,” comments Afonso Cagnino, Institutional Relations Manager of the Yamaha Group.
“We are very excited about this project. The opening of this new school represents more professional qualification, more job opportunities, and more income generation for residents of Betim and the metropolitan region,” celebrates Solange Bottaro, vice-president of the Ramacrisna Institute.
